Air Hockey

Air Hockey is a two-player table game: P1 defends the bottom goal, P2 defends the top, and the puck bounces off the walls until someone scores.

The puck accelerates when it hits a mallet, so the best shots are not the hardest swings but the ones that change angle late. A mallet moving sideways at the moment of contact sends the puck across the table; a stationary mallet returns it predictably.

P1 moves with A and D, P2 with the left and right arrows. On touch, each player drags on their half of the table. First to seven wins.

How to play Air Hockey

• P1 moves with A / D; P2 moves with ← / →.
• Hit the puck into the opponent's goal at the far end.
• The puck bounces off the side walls but not the goals.
• First player to seven goals wins.

Tips & strategy

Air Hockey is about angles and recovery. The player who returns to the goal first usually wins the exchange.

• Hit the puck with the edge of the mallet to send it across the table instead of straight back.
• Do not chase the puck into the corner; you leave the goal open. Wait for it to come to you.
• Move sideways at the moment of contact to add angle without adding force.
• After every shot, return to the centre of your goal — the next shot usually comes back fast.
• Aim for the far post rather than the middle; the opponent's mallet starts in the centre.
• At 6–6, play safe. A wild swing that misses the puck is worse than a slow return.
