Hextris drops colored blocks toward a rotating hexagon. Your job is to spin the hexagon so matching colors stack together and clear, because the centre is always creeping upward and the game ends the moment it overflows.
It is the rare puzzle game that demands both planning and reflex: the outer ring moves fast, the blocks land in three directions at once, and combo chains reward you for clearing several groups in a row.
Fast, loud and built for short sessions — a perfect two-minute break.
How to play Hextris
- Blocks fall toward the hexagon from three directions.
- Rotate the hexagon so incoming blocks land on matching colors.
- Three or more connected blocks of the same color clear and push the centre back down.
- Clear blocks in quick succession to build a combo multiplier.
Tips & strategy
Hextris looks chaotic because blocks arrive from three directions at once. The skill is reading all three lanes and rotating before a stack becomes urgent.
- Scan all three incoming lanes continuously instead of staring at the block closest to the hexagon.
- Rotate early. The hexagon turns slower than the blocks fall, so a late correction usually overshoots.
- Group colours by sector: three blocks of the same colour only clear when they touch, so set up clusters deliberately.
- Chain clears back-to-back to build a combo; the score multiplier is where most of the value is.
- Avoid unnecessary rotations — every turn repositions every existing stack, not just the incoming block.
- On mobile, use two thumbs on opposite sides of the screen for faster, more controlled rotation.
