Blackjack is the card game where the goal is to get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Aces count as 1 or 11, face cards count as 10, and a two-card 21 is a natural blackjack that pays 3:2.
This version uses a single shuffled deck, a dealer who stands on 17, and three actions: hit, stand and double. You start with 200 chips and a 10-chip bet; the stack resets if you run out.
It is a game of decisions, not luck alone. Basic strategy — when to hit, stand or double — is what separates a long session from a short one.
How to play Blackjack
- Press Deal to start a hand. You and the dealer each get two cards; one dealer card stays hidden.
- Hit to take another card; stand to end your turn.
- Double doubles your bet, deals one more card, and ends your turn.
- The dealer draws to 17. Closest to 21 without busting wins; a tie is a push.
Tips & strategy
Blackjack has a correct play for almost every hand. Memorising a few rules removes most of the guesswork.
- Always split aces and eights; never split tens or fives.
- Stand on 17 or higher, except hit a soft 17 (an ace counted as 11).
- Double on 10 or 11 when the dealer shows a weak card (2–6).
- Hit a soft 18 against a dealer 9, 10 or ace; stand against 2–8.
- The dealer busts most often with a 4, 5 or 6 showing — stand more aggressively in those spots.
- Do not chase losses with bigger bets. The house edge is small but constant.
