You know it from the moment your internet drops: a pixel dinosaur sprinting across a blank page. This is a standalone build of that endless runner, with the same monotone charm and the same escalating speed.
Jump over cacti, duck under flying obstacles, and survive long enough for the game to start throwing combinations at you. The pace increases in steps, so every personal best is a little harder than the last.
Perfect for a thirty-second break — and it works offline once loaded.
How to play T-Rex Runner
- Press Space or the Up arrow to jump.
- Press the Down arrow to duck under flying obstacles.
- The game speeds up the longer you survive.
- One collision ends the run — your score is the distance covered.
Tips & strategy
The dinosaur runner is about timing under acceleration. The obstacles do not change, but the window to react gets shorter every few hundred metres.
- Jump early for clusters of cacti. The hitbox is generous at the top of the arc but unforgiving at the base.
- Duck only when a pterodactyl is actually at head height; ducking too early can leave you unable to jump the next cactus.
- Watch the speed steps. After each increase, your old jump timing will be slightly late.
- Keep your eyes on the middle distance, not on the dinosaur, so you see obstacles as they enter the screen.
- Short taps are enough. Holding jump does not give you meaningful extra height.
- Use the empty stretch after each obstacle to reset your rhythm rather than holding a direction.
