Anagrams gives you a scrambled word and ninety seconds to solve as many as possible. Type your answer, press Check, and the next word appears immediately.
The words are common English nouns between five and eight letters, so the challenge is recognition rather than obscure vocabulary. If a word refuses to resolve, the hint button fills in the first letter; Skip moves you on without a penalty.
The score is ten points per solved word. There is no penalty for a wrong guess, which makes it a low-pressure vocabulary warm-up.
How to play Anagrams
- Look at the scrambled letters at the top of the screen.
- Type the unscrambled word and press Check or Enter.
- Hint reveals the first letter; Skip moves to another word.
- Solve as many words as possible before the ninety seconds run out.
Tips & strategy
Anagrams are easier when you stop reading the letters in order and start looking for common patterns.
- Look for common endings first: -ING, -TION, -ER and -ED often reveal the word's shape.
- Group vowels together mentally; most English words have two or three, and their positions constrain the rest.
- Try starting the word with each consonant in turn — the first letter is often the hardest part.
- If the letters include a Y, consider it as a vowel sound (HAPPY, STORY, CYCLE).
- Say the letters out loud or move them around physically; sound is often faster than sight.
- Skip quickly. Ninety seconds is better spent on three solvable words than one stubborn one.
